Lawrence Arabia - “The Listening Times” Official Video (by Lawrence Arabia)

“When everyone’s still up talking meaningless, self-aggrandising bullshit at 6:30am, these are the Listening Times.” - James Milne

This is believed to be the only female nude ever taken in Antarctica. It was shot by Jean de Pomereu, an Arctic researcher and photographer. His other work is equally as sparse and stunning.

Today in Whistler, BC

Sunshine and snow. This is how February should be!

Note: Golden photos are courtesy of GoggleVision - using your goggles as a lens to see the slopes as you see them! Hmm… new app?

I think that if I had these in my room, I would feel better about winter. There is something beautiful about bare branches … especially when you can enjoy them while in bed with a hot water bottle at your feet.

(old houses in Toronto get chilly in the wee hours of the night)

(at least for the chronically chilled)

(I’ve concluded that I am in favour of decorating to bring outside inside)

White Winter Hymnal by the Fleet Foxes

Dreamy and lightly dusted with snow.

Slightly dangerous.

Deep cold.

Today I wanted nothing more than to head down to the beach to check out the stormy waters while my entire neighbourhood looked as though we lived in a snowglobe being shaken perpetually by a child.
But I didn’t.
At least Joel can make me feel a little better about all the photos I did not get to take today!

They say the Canadians have 874 words for “Snow.” And, apparently, they’re bored by every last one of them.

I fall victim to complaining about everything winter and snow related. Winter blows.

Too true, too true! I wish my snowman would speak to me.
